Event Data
Event Data is a joint service by DataCite and Crossref, which retrieves and exposes the activity that occurs around research data objects. In particular, Event Data brings to light links between publications and data, citations, software, reuse, documentation, etc. This service follows the Scholix Framework developed by the joint Research Data Alliance/ICSU World Data System Data Publishing Services Working Group.
The events are found via the relatedIdentifier and nameIdentifier attributes of DataCite Metadata, and via external services (so-called 'sources') that collect information about DataCite DOIs. Examples of events include references to related data, data citations in journal articles, and new versions of a work.
