DataCite Member Meeting 2022

As in the last two years, this member meeting will be virtual. We will host several virtual sessions in different time zones and languages to give you a general update on DataCite and our product roadmap. In addition, there will be training sessions and we will continue with the PID and service provider sessions.

The member meeting will be held on September 22, 2022 from 06:00-19:00 UTC.

In this year's meeting, for the first time, we invite participation from the wider community in all of sessions except the trainings!

  • The training sessions are only for DataCite Direct Members, Consortium Leads, Consortium Organizations and Member Only organizations.
  • All of the other sessions listed are open to the public, feel free to register.

DataCite: Now and in the future

The session will look at what we have accomplished in relation to our strategic plan and look ahead to the coming years. Attendees will be able to interact and provide feedback during the session via polling, chat, and Q&A.

DataCite Roadmap: Together shaping priorities for 2023

In this session we will take a look at the roadmap over the past 12 months and then will have an interactive session about your priorities for 2023.

Participants would be using both Miro and Menti.

DataCite Training: Making the most of DataCite’s services

Join us for training on DataCite’s services, metadata, and more! There will be two simultaneous tracks available.

  • DataCite Core Training: Topics will include DOI fundamentals, metadata basics, making the most of Fabrica, and an overview of DataCite’s services and communication channels.
  • DataCite Advanced Training: Topics will include the DataCite metadata schema, making connections to other PIDs, DataCite’s APIs, and IGSN.

How do open infrastructures work together?

Providers of open infrastructures collaborate to enable seamless scholarly communication. But what are they actually doing to realize this? How do open infrastructures integrate metadata of other providers into their services? This open community session gives open infrastructures the opportunity to let us see scholarly communication through their eyes. Throughout the session you will be able to ask the panelists anything about their services.

DataCite’s registered service providers program helps to ensure that members have access to high-quality DataCite integrations that support DOI registration best practices. Join this session to hear from several of our registered service providers. Bring your questions about repository integrations!
